About Us

“Educating the mind without the heart is no education at all”

The Applied Centre for Emotional Literacy Leadership and Research (ACELLR) was established in 2009 to assist and support, businesses, educators and health care staff who were not only asking many of these questions but want answers to these questions. Our centre was launched in June 2009, by one of the pioneers of emotional intelligence, Jack Mayer.

The inspirational for our Centre emanates from Honorary Professor Richard Majors’ work on emotional literacy in Europe. In 2009 and 2010 respectively. Majors was the recipient of 2 Transfer of Innovation (TOI) awards from the European Union (EU) for his research and intervention with various groups on emotional intelligences and wellness.

We are a group of professionals who have many years of experiences in: emotional intelligence, emotional literacy, “soft skills”, communications,  strategic planning, organisational performance, executive/corporate coaching, cultural competence, benchmarking and assessment among other areas that are crucial for effective performance driven communication in the workplace.

Workshops and Seminars are provided by Honorary Professor Richard Majors who is the Director of the Applied Centre of Emotional Literacy, Research & Leadership (ACELLR).

ACELLR provides prescribed and tailor made Master Classes, workshops and training programmes which focus on helping Public and Private Sector Organisations, Educators and Health & Social Care providers to improve emotional literacy and acquire the appropriate “soft skills” and performance targets to be successful and reach both the individual and company’s aims and goals.

Realising that time is one of the most valuable commodities in businesses and health care. The Applied Centre of Emotional Literacy, Research & Leadership (ACELLR), has developed a range of full day and half day workshops/master courses that aim to build core “soft skills”, that are required to optimize performance and outcomes in the work place. The Essential Business Soft Skills workshops are ideal for those who may be new to industry or wishing to improve their performance with the least amount of disruption to their working day
